Position Summary:

Creative Associates seeks a Team Leader to support the implementation of the Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB) Comprehensive Rural Development and Productivity Project. The project's general objective is to sustainably increase the income of rural households in the Dry Corridor of Honduras. Its specific objective is to improve productive development in the project's target area by providing technologies, production-related technical assistance, and access to financing for the beneficiary population. The Team Leader will provide overall technical, financial, and administrative leadership for a rural development program in Honduras and serve as the primary authority for all decision making related to this award.

Reporting & Supervision:

The Team Leader will report to the Headquarters-based Project Director.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the client and other donors, government institutions, local organizations, and the private sector and will be responsible for providing all deliverables as per contract.
  • Ensure that the Program is fullystaffed,and its structure and performance is able to deliver high-quality workplans, periodic reports, and other technical and financial documents reports in a timely manner, setting targets, keeping track of costs and expenditures per activity, and ensuring that an efficient monitoring and evaluation is performed throughout the progress of the program.
  • Supervise staff, other subcontractors, short- and long- term consultants and others directly involved in the implementation of the Program; oversee the various details of the Program but will focus on bigger picture issues of facilitating associativity, empowering producers and producers associations, providing technical and financial assistance, and linking them to selected value chains through anchor firms, as well as building a stronger enabling environment to foster productivity and competitiveness for producers and producers organization in support of economic development in Honduras.
  • Establish productive and cooperative alliances to foster inclusive economic growth by engaging producers and producers' associations, private sector firms and organizations -including financial entities, the Honduras government and municipalities in win-win commercial arrangements.
  • Demonstrate high level and effective leadership, interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills including the ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
    Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Economics, Agronomy, Forest Sciences or similar field;

  • Ten (10) years of experience in planning, management, and monitoring and evaluation of programs; specifically, five (5) years with projects funded by international agencies, especially the World Bank or IDB;

  • Strong project management experience;

  • Previous work in agriculture and value chain in Honduras or Central America;

  • Spanish fluency.
