Position Summary:
Creative Associates seeks a National Director for the upcoming USAID-funded Regional Human Rights and Democracy Activity. The purpose of this program is to strengthen a targeted set of capacities within the national human rights protections systems in Central America, empowering actors to better fulfill their roles in 1) providing oversight, 2) ensuring accountability, 3) upholding the principle of non-discrimination along with other human rights norms, 4) addressing needs of victims, and 5) doing so in an independent, accountable, efficient, and effective manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Master’s degree in human rights, law, international relations or other related fields or 5 years of relevant experience to substitute the education requirement;
Minimum of 8 years of experience working in human rights in Honduras;
Demonstrated experience in effectively working with local government structures, senior government officials, civil society actors, other donors; and
Speaking and writing fluency in Spanish, level 4 required. Additional proficiency in English strongly desired.
