SUMMARY: The Senior Program Specialist seeks to support the process of assuring the quality of programs in accordance with our Strong Core Program, Theory of Change and rights-based approach. The post holder also supports global program strategic initiatives when needed. The Senior Program Specialist will provide technical guidance and support to Country Office in the process of continuous program management and improvement, partner portfolio management, institutional capacity building, and provide key support in resource mobilization initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
Advanced degree or equivalent in relevant area required. Equivalent relevant work experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
At least 10 years of relevant experience with NGOs, program management and/or technical support.
Service-oriented.
Understanding of current methodologies and standards.
Demonstrated success in designing, monitoring and evaluating programs.
Understanding of the nature of ChildFund International organization, programs and networks or knowledge and experience with similar organizations.
Ability to identify appropriate resources.
Effective skills in cross cultural communication and the ability to clearly articulate expectations.
Readiness and ability to analyze understand and take into account different cultural contexts and concepts.
Ability to write strong program designs.
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas and strategies to a variety of audiences.
Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English required. Knowledge of Portuguese is an added advantage.
Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
