Position Summary:

Creative Associates seeks a Chief of Party for an upcoming USAID-funded project in Honduras. The overall goal of the Community and Municipal Development for Citizen Security project is to support efforts by local governments to prevent violence through targeted interventions focusing on improved community infrastructure for citizen security and increased community engagement in violence prevention activities.

The Chief of Party (COP) provides overall technical and administrative leadership and expertise to the project, and serves as the primary liaison with USAID/Honduras on management and technical matters. The COP will take a leadership role in coordinating with USAID, other implementing partners, other donors, and any other key stakeholders. The COP will have demonstrated ability to work in complex environments and manage diverse teams to deliver impact.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in international development work with increasing responsibility, at least 5 years of which is in youth violence prevention, youth development, or citizen security.
  • Experience managing programs in Honduras or similar development contexts.
  • Experience in the implementation and design of citizen security programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community/municipal violence prevention activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage challenging and complex projects that engage a variety of public and private sector stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with at‐risk youth and other vulnerable groups.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, technical and analytical skills, including an ability to interact effectively with government counterparts and local organizations.
  • Speaking and writing fluency in English and Spanish.
