Project Summary:

MSI seeks seasoned Chief of Party candidates for multi-year DRG projects in the Northern Triangle.

Position Summary:

The Chief of Party will provide the overall technical and administrative management for the project and maintain accountability to headquarters office in the United States and to USAID in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership for the startup and implementation of the project.
  • Serve as principal liaison with USAID, counterparts and other donors.
  • Oversee fulfillment of all contract delivery requirements including all reports.
  • Work with national and local governments and CSOs on anticorruption, crime and violence prevention, advocacy, and/or citizen security related activities.
  • Provide capacity development support to CSOs working in key program areas.
  • Link community priorities with local government officials' development plans.
  • Provide grants to local CSOs in support of key program objectives.
  • Oversee internal management of the project including the budget and performance monitoring and evaluation.
  • Writing donor reports.
  • Recruitment and supervision of staff or consultants.
  • Coordination with donors.

Qualifications:

  • At least ten (10) years' experience working in project management in developing countries, and demonstrated management and leadership skills working with large and complex programs.
  • Substantial experience managing field projects in Guatemala, Honduras, and/or El Salvador.
  • Master's degree in public administration, international relations, economics, business administration or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Substantial technical expertise in local governance, anticorruption, civil society, and/or crime and violence prevention.
  • Experience with knowledge management and learning a plus.
  • Experience managing and reporting on USAID-funded programs.
  • Prior experience as Chief of Party or equivalent for USAID projects preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
